CITY OF SAN FERNANDO —Governor Dennis "Delta" Pineda led the recognition of the top-performing cities and municipalities in Pampanga during the 2024 Disaster Resilience and Enhanced Adaptation and Mitigation (DREAM) awarding ceremony on Friday, December 6 at the Kingsborough Convention Center.

DREAM Assessment was facilitated by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC).

The recognition aims to “to encourage LGUs to strengthen their disaster management efforts by recognizing outstanding performance and providing incentives.”

“Kayo ang first line of defense natin. Kayo ang una naming inaasahan, kaya dapat palakasin po talaga natin ang mga LGU natin. Kung anuman po ang maitutulong ng provincial government, nandito po kami palagi nakasuporta sa inyo," Pineda told government officials and disaster response officers.

Magalang town was named as this year’s most disaster-resilient local government unit in the municipal category.

It was followed by Minalin in 2nd place and Floridablanca, Lubao, and San Luis in 3rd, 4th, and 5th places, respectively.

The winners received transport vehicles for their disaster response.

Mabalacat City was hailed as this year’s most disaster-resilient city under the city category.

It was followed by the City of San Fernando and Angeles City. The winners received various equipment.

Other top performing towns like Bacolor, San Simon, Masantol, Porac, and Mexico received certificates and ?300,000 cash incentives.
