The Department of Health in Central Luzon (DOH 3) has resumed its school-based immunization program for this year at the Burot Integrated School in Tarlac City.

Under the program, DOH Central Luzon Center for Health Development Director Corazon Flores said Grade 1 and 7 students will be given Measles, Rubella, and Tetanus-Diphtheria vaccines.

Grade 4 female students on the other hand, will be given Human Papillomavirus vaccine.

Flores underscored the immediate need of protecting children against various vaccine preventable diseases.

"So to every parent who gives permission, and to every teacher who serves as a bridge for this, we in DOH are very grateful, because our protection for the health of children is expanding," she said.

The agency undertakes the immunization program in partnership with the Department of Education and the local government units in the region.
