The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) has completed the paving of a 780.9-meter section of Cervantes Road in Barangay Sto. Niño, Guagua.

Gregorio Audea, Jr., chief of DPWH 2nd DEO, said the project was implemented in two phases.

The first, covering 470.9 meters with a drainage system, was completed in 2023 at a cost of P19.79 million.

The second phase, finished in 2024, added 310 meters of road at the same cost.

“The project enhances road safety and accessibility for both residents and commuters,” Audea said.

Prior to the road improvement, Audea said residents faced transportation challenges due to dust during dry seasons and mud during rainy periods.

“With a total cost of P39.58 million, the road improvement aims to ensure safer travel and support long-term development in the area,” he said.
