
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said the construction of the new Philippine Information Agency (PIA) - Regional Office III building started recently.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 18, 2025, at the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center (DMGC) in Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Region III Assistant Director Melquiades Sto. Domingo said the facility will strengthen the PIA's capacity to deliver accurate and timely information, particularly on government programs and services.
“Funded by the national government, the P34-million project will rise within the DMGC compound and is expected to be completed by January 2026,” Sto. Domingo said.
Once completed, the DPWH official said the PIA building will serve as a central hub for government communication, media coordination, and information dissemination in Central Luzon.
Officials from various national government agencies—including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Commission on Audit (COA), Bureau of the Treasury (BTr), and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) attended the event.
