A former rebel on Wednesday surrendered to the Pampanga police on Wednesday, January 15.

Her surrender was facilitated by authorities from the Pampanga 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) in coordination with other police units.

Colonel Jay Dimaandal, director of Pampanga Police Provincial Office, said the surrenderer was a former member of the Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon (AMGL-KMP).

Dimaandal said the rebel returnee was involved in rallies, including one at Hacienda Luisita in San Miguel, Tarlac City in 2010, and others at Mendiola in Manila.

Dimaandal said the former rebel turned over a rifle grenade, which is now under the custody of the Pampanga 2nd PMFC for investigation.

Authorities are documenting and interrogating the former rebel to gather information that may help in future police operations.

To support her reintegration into society, the PMFC provided her cash assistance and food packs.

“We remain dedicated to our mission of maintaining peace in the province while extending support to those who wish to reintegrate into society,” Dimaandal said.
