Officials of the Naga City local government unit (LGU) are looking at Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBL-MGH) Children’s Medical Center Clark as a model for strengthening the city’s primary healthcare system.
Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo led a benchmarking visit to the hospital on Saturday, August 22.
She was accompanied by DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, Senator Francis Joseph “Chiz” Escudero and Bloomberry Resorts Corp. Vice Chairman for Construction and Regulatory Affairs Donato C. Almeda.
Monserrat S. Chichioco, JBL-MGH Medical Center Chief, said the delegation toured the hospital’s specialized facilities, patient care areas, specialty wards, isolation rooms, diagnostic units and pediatric services to study its facility design and operational systems.
Chichioco, along with Deputy Center Head Paul Baltazar, led the delegation’s tour and presented the hospital’s healthcare delivery system.
She said the visit was aimed at providing Naga City with a reference for the development of its local Primary Care Facility, particularly in improving patient flow, facility efficiency and delivery of integrated healthcare services.
Escudero examined the hospital’s specialized care model for possible application in government health facilities in Sorsogon.
Dizon held discussions with hospital officials on the planned JBLMGH Renal Specialty Center, particularly on the infrastructure requirements and the expansion of the hospital’s medical complex.
The Children’s Medical Center Clark was built with support from the Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
