

The city government of San Fernando, Pampanga has reminded its constituents to observe proper waste disposal in accordance with Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
Mahalin and kalikasan, disiplina ay kailangan, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) stated.
The city government said it has apprehended a number of residents for indiscriminate dumping of waste.
"Patuloy ang CENRO sa kanyang ginagawang monitoring at enforcement ng batas RA 9003 o ang Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 na kung saan ay mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang pagtatapon ng basura sa mga pampublikong lugar," the local government added.
Some people still fail to practice waste segregation, despite constant reminders, the local government said.
The CENRO said violators of the environment law are issued citation tickets and fined P300 to P2,000.
"Ang mga nahuhuli ay ginagawan ng blotter sa barangay at binibigyan ng Citiation Ticket kung saan sila ay kailangan magbayad ng nasa 300 hanggang 2,000 piso o higit pa," the city environment office said.
Mayor Vilma Caluag reminded the residents that observing RA 9003 and participation in clean-up drive are big important maintaining a healthy and clean environment.
"Kung mayroong katanungan ukol sa koleksyon ng inyong basura, maaaring magtungo at makipag ugnayan sa inyong barangay. Dahil sa Batas RA 9003, Si kapitan ang bida," the CENRO stated.RGN
