100 Mexico farmers get fertilizers from DA

MEXICO -- More than 100 Mexico rice farmers received bags of fertilizers from the Department of Agriculture (DA) during distributions spearheaded by the Municipal Agriculturist Office from July 21 to 22 held at Barangay Culubasa Multipurpose Gym, here.

The recipients were from Barangays Cawayan, Divisoria, Pangatlan and San Vicente.

The said distribution is part of the agency’s Rice Resiliency Project (RRP) under the Plant, Plant, Plant Program. RRP aims to increase local rice production to combat global trade uncertainties and put the country into a more food-secure position during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Farmer-beneficiary Esmeralda Baluyut of Barangay San Vicente expressed her gratitude to the department.

“Maraming salamat po sa DA. Malaking tulong po ito sa akin lalo na ngayon na nasa panahon tayo ng pandemya.” Baluyut said

Last week, Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar led the distribution of seeds and fertilizers in Paniqui, Tarlac.
