1,500 laptops distributed to San Fernando teachers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The city government on Tuesday, June 6, fulfilled its vow to provide laptops to all public school teachers reporting under its jurisdiction.

A total of 1,500 brand new devices were handed over by city officials led by Mayor Vilma Caluag to the beneficiaries.

Teachers were deployed from 26 public schools and learning institutions within the city.

They are the fourth batch to receive the laptops, which completed the total 2,195 public school teachers in the city.

Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Leonardo Zapanta said it is only in the City of San Fernando where 100% of the public school teachers were given laptops.

Caluag said the goal of providing each teacher a laptop is a major milestone in her leadership.

She said education is very close to her heart and a top priority of her administration.

Following the completion of the distribution of laptops, Caluag said they are targeting to install wireless networking technology of Wi-Fi access in all public schools.

Also present during the distribution were City Councilors Brenz Gonzales, Reggie David, and Ayzel Mari-Grace Macalino.
