₱153.4M farm machinery distributed to CL farmers

A total of ₱153,456,884.75 worth of agricultural machinery were distributed to farmers by the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office III (DA-RFO 3) as part of the weeklong celebration of Farmers' and Fisherfolk's Month (FFM) in Central Luzon.

The ceremonial turnover was held over the weekend at the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center in Barangay Maimpis.

The event marked the opening of the FFM celebration, anchored on the theme “Magsasaka’t Mangingisdang Pilipino: Magsasaka’t Mangingisdang Bagong Bayani sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

A total of 128 farmers and cooperatives from various parts of Central Luzon received equipment under the DA banner programs.

The machineries included hand tractors, four-wheel tractors, multi-cultivators, shallow tube wells, hauling trucks, and combine harvesters.

The activity was attended by DA officials, representatives of local government units, partner agencies, and members of farmers associations and cooperatives.

The event also highlighted d a product showcase of seeds, fertilizers, and equipment from private suppliers, along with fresh produce from local farmers through the Kadiwa sa DA initiative.

DA Assistant Secretary for Operations U-Nichols A. Manalo emphasized the importance of continuous government investment in agriculture to boost productivity and support food security.
