18 national road sections in 4 regions closed to traffic - DPWH

MANILA – Eighteen national road sections in four regions are closed to traffic due to high water elevation, road cut, soil collapse, and flooding, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Tuesday. 

In a statement, the DPWH said 12 roads are closed in Metro Manila, three in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR); two in Region Central Luzon; and one in Bicol, as of early Tuesday morning.

The roads that are not passable in the National Capital Region (NCR) are: 

Quezon City 

--G. Araneta cor. Maria Clara St.

--Sto. Domingo Avenue corner Calamba St.

--Maria Clara St. cor. G. Araneta Ave. to Sto. Domingo Ave

--Sto. Domingo Ave. (cor Maria Clara St.)

--General Luis Street cor. Ambrocia St., 

--G. Araneta Ave. (Southbound - Kaliraya St. to E. Rodriguez St. and Northbound - E. Rodriguez St. to Kaliraya St.)  

Valenzuela

--MacArthur Highway - Barangay Dalandanan (C. Santiago St. to G. Lazaro St.); Marulas, (Pio Valenzuela St. To Elysian St.); Marulas (Tullahan Bridge to G. Fernando St.) 

--East Service Road Brgy. Paso De Blas, Valenzuela 

Manila 

--España Blvd. (M. dela Fuente – A.H. Lacson Ave.) 

--Blumentritt Road (corners P. Margal, P. Florentino) 

--Tayuman cor. Jose Abad Santos Ave. 

Navotas 

--M. Naval St. (Varadero St. to City Hall) 

The closed roads in CAR, Central Luzon; and Bicol are: 

--Apayao (Calanasan)-Ilocos Norte Road, K0633+535 Tanglagan, Calanasan, Apayao

--Claveria-Calanasan-Flora- Lasam Road, K0707+750 – K0707+765, Barangay Ninoy, Calanasan, Apayao 

--Kennon Road, K0237+680, Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet

--Bigaa-Plaridel via Bulacan & Malolos Road, K0032+0000 to K0032+0100 Barangay Panginay, Balagtas (Bigaa), Bulacan 

--Paniqui-Camiling-Wawa Road, K0169+0200 to K0169+0500 Barangay Sawat - Barangay Bilad, Camiling, Tarlac 

--Oton-Buray-Sta Monica-Sn Antonio- Sn Miguel Rd a. K00+K0011-0695 to K0011+0400 Barangay Poblacion West, Oton, Iloilo 

Also, 15 national road sections have limited access -- seven in NCR; five in Central Luzon; one in Calabarzon; and two in Zamboanga Peninsula, due to flooding, precautionary measures, soil collapse, fallen trees, road slip, and washed-out detour road. 

The NCR roads are:

--Boni Avenue Mandaluyong City (Corner F. Ortigas) 

--Imelda Avenue, Pasig City 

--Sto. Domingo Avenue cor. Atok St. (Quezon City)

--Regalado Avenue (NORTH) cor. Bristol St. (Quezon City)

--EDSA Balintawak LRT Station (Quezon City)

--España Blvd. (Antipolo – A. Maceda) (Manila)

--Taft Ave., NB and SB near Pedro Gil St. (Manila) 

The other roads that have also limited access are:  

--Manila North Road, K0019+250 - K0019+300 Barangay Saluysoy, City of Meycauayan, Bulacan 

--Apalit – Macabebe – Masantol Road, K0063+0000 to K0063+1090 Barangay Sta. Lucia Anac, Masantol, Pampanga 

--San Antonio-Floridablanca Road, K0081+0000 to K0084+0450 Barangay Siran, Guagua, Pampanga 

--Romulo Highway K0158+0000 to K0158+1000 Barangay Cacamilingan Sur, Camiling, Tarlac 

--Amungan-Palauig-Banlog Road (S01157LZ) Sect. K0217+0403 - K0217+0423, Barangay Bato, Palauig, Zambales, Bato Bridge 

--Diokno Highway, K0087+020, LS, Batangas

--Liloy – Siocon Road (K2032+500, Sitio Tubongon, Barangay Diculom, Baliguian, Zamboanga Del Norte and K2031+700, Sitio Tubongon, Barangay Diculom, Baliguian, Zamboanga Del Norte 

--Zamboanga West Coastal Road (Sibuco- Limpapa Section), K2159+129-K2159+278, Barangay Pangian Sibuco, Zamboanga del del Norte  

All other national roads and bridges in the affected regions are passable to all types of vehicles as of 6 a.m. Tuesday. (PNA)
