A TOTAL of 20,000 Kapampangans from various sectors of society benefitted from the food assistance program of the Pineda family through the efforts of Second District Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab.

This, as the board member finished the distribution of food packs in all four districts of the province.

The food packs, which contained rice and assorted canned goods, were the personal initiative of the Pineda family in helping the government cater to the needs of vulnerable sectors of society amid the ongoing pandemic.

The distribution program had benefitted solo parents, pedicab drivers, scavengers, coastal communities and even laborers. The series of distributions also provided an opportunity for the legislator to consult with community leaders and those in the marginalized sector.

Pineda-Cayabyab will cap the food assistance program with distributions set in Sasmuan and Porac town next week.

She said a second batch of relief goods will be distributed in the coming weeks for those who were not accommodated in the recent distributions.
