2nd district seniors get cash incentive from Capitol

NINE senior citizens aged 95 and above from the Second District towns of Sasmuan, Lubao, Floridablanca, Guagua and Porac received cash assistance from the Provincial Government of Pampanga as part of the incentive program for seniors on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), along with Second District Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon and Guagua Vice Mayor Sajid Eusoof, led the distribution of P100,000 to senior citizens enrolled in the Provincial Government's one-time cash incentive program.

The said cash gift is part of the privileges and benefits provided by the provincial government to senior citizens under Ordinance No. 683. This program was implemented by virtue of provincial Ordinance 683, series of 2014, or “An Ordinance Enacting the Senior Citizen Code of the Province of Pampanga.”

Initially, only those who have reached 100 years old were entitled to receive the incentive. It can be noted that Pampanga is the pioneer in the distribution of cash incentives to centenarians worth P100,000.

Ordinance 647 or the Senior Citizens Code was then amended by the Provincial Board, lowering the age of the beneficiaries from 100 to 95 years old.

For those who want to apply for the said program please contact your Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
