4 SM employees to undergo swab testing

THE City Government of San Fernando said four employees of SM Supermalls would have to undergo swab testing or the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test (RT-PCR) to determine if they are positive for coronavirus infection. The City Government said the four employees of SM Supermalls turned out positive in a recent rapid test conducted by the mall on its personnel on March 19. They would need to undergo swab testing to “officially” determine their status. The rapid testing was part of SM Supermalls’ initiative to provide safe shopping experience to mall goers. The City Government said the employees who turned out positive include one employee from SM Pampanga, two from Sam Telabastagan and one from SM Downtown. The results were turned over to the City Government for following check up on their current medical conditions. The SM Pampanga employee is currently under isolation and will undergo swab testing. The three other patients are asymptomatic as of this posting and are undergoing monitoring. The City Government of San Fernando also called on locals to avoid panicking and to observe proper health measures. The City Government also said that while the city is under modified enhanced community quarantine, the virus is still present and everyone is required to wear facemasks in public at all times.
