CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Six individuals were arrested in Porac town recently for allegedly engaging in illegal cockfighting.
Colonel Levi Hope Basilio, Pampanga police director, said the suspects were arrested in Barangay Calzadang Bayu, Porac during an anti-illegal gambling operation.
The suspects were not named by authorities pending the filing of charges against them.
The operation was conducted by elements of Police Intelligence Unit Pampanga, Pampanga 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Porac police.
Seized from the suspects were three fighting cocks (2 live and 1 dead), one set of guff and bet money amounting to P21,200 in different denominations.
The arrested persons, who will be facing charges for violation of PD 1602, were placed under the custody of Porac police.
