City government awardees consisted of Balanga, Meycauayan, San Jose del Monte, Munoz, Palayan, San Jose, Mabalacat, San Fernando, and Tarlac.

Moreover, included in the list of Municipal Government awardees are Baler Dingalan and Maria Aurora in Aurora; Bagac, Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Pilar, and Samal in Bataan; Angat, Balagtas, Baliwag, Bulakan, Guiguinto, Plaridel, Pulilan, and Sta. Maria in Bulacan; and Bongabon, Cabiao, Cuyapo, Llanera, Nampicuan, Rizal, San Antonio, San Leonardo, Sta. Rosa, Talavera, and Zaragoza in Nueva Ecija.

Also included were Apalit, Arayat, Bacolor, Floridablanca, Guagua, Lubao, Macabebe, Masantol, Mexico, Minalin, Porac, San Simon, and Sto. Tomas in Pampanga; Capas, Gerona, Moncada, Pura, San Clemente, Sta. Ignacia, Victoria, and San Jose in Tarlac; and Botolan and San Antonio in Zambales.

“SGLG is a mechanism which aims to gauge the performance of LGUs and thereafter provide incentives to the awardees through monetary grants,” Daquioag explained.

SGLG has seven areas for assessment, namely Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace and Order, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management, and Tourism, Culture and the Arts. LGUs must pass these seven areas for them to be worthy of the seal. (PIA-Central Luzon)
