Agri-damage from Typhoon Karding hits P655-M

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Typhoon Kiko had left P655,894,165 worth of damages to agricultural crops according to the latest damage report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC).

This does not include P22,305,530 damage to high-value crops. The province of Pampanga also sustained some P19,871,753 to its fisheries sector and some P15,642,191 to its corn production sector.

Magalang town registered the most number of rice damage with ?106,412,740 along with Candaba town with P216,046,403 and Arayat town with P115,336,034. Bacolor has the least recorded number of damages at P2,310,954.

Pampanga's poultry sector also reported damages with some P370,200 worth of damages to poultry housing.

The PDRRMC also reported that some 51 families are still in evacuation centers in Macabebe, Masantol and San Simon due to flooding brought by hightide and water draining from higher areas.
