Angeles church suspends religious gatherings

THE HOLY Rosary Parish (HRP) in Angeles City has suspended all religious gatherings in time for Holy Week.

In its Facebook post Friday, April 2, 2021, the HRP or Pisamban Maragul stated that it is adopting Executive Number 5 issued by Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda extending the household lockdown until April 15.

"In accordance with the announcement from the Office of the Provincial Governor and City Government of Angeles, the Holy Rosary Parish -- Pisamban Maragul hereby adopts the Executive Order No. 05-2021 on prohibiting all religious gatherings effective on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021," the HRP stated.

The HRP will be closed from Easter Sunday until further notice, according to the church leaders headed by Father Noli Fernandez.

"Together with our parish priest, Reverend Fr. Nolasco L. Fernandez and our city mayor, Honorable Carmelo 'Pogi' Lazatin Jr., announces that the Holy Rosary Parish -- Pisamban Maragul will be closed for public celebration of Holy Mass and other liturgical activities starting on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 until further notice," the HRP management stated.

Instead, the church encouraged the parishioners to attend mass via online streaming on Facebook and Youtube channel.

"Among Noli and the HRP Clergy highly encourage all our parishioners and faithfull community to please stay at home, stay safe, stay healthy, practice health protocols and continue attending our Holy Masses via online livestreaming on our official Facebook page and Youtube channel," the HRP stated.
