Angeles City New Year celebration peaceful

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said the New Year's Day celebration in the city was quiet and peaceful.

"Payapa po ang nagdaang selebrasyon ng Bagong Taon sa siyudad (The New Year celebration in the city was peaceful)," Lazatin said.

This, after only two individuals were injured due to firecracker-related incidents, while one was nabbed for illegal selling of firecrackers, based on reports from the City Health Office, Angeles City Police Office, and the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center.

There were no reports of individuals hit by stray bullets.

"Patunay lamang po na kung paiiralin natin ang disiplina sa sarili at malasakit sa kapwa, magiging mas matiwasay ang ating siyudad," Lazatin said.

With this, he also cited the strict monitoring of the Angeles City Police Office in the implementation of prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.

The Angeles City Police Station 5 apprehended an illegal seller of firecrackers in her rented stall.

The suspect failed to present a permit upon inquiry of the police officers. Violation of Republic Act 7183 was filed against the suspect at the Angeles City Prosecutor's Office.
