Angeles City students to get free school supplies

ANGELES CITY -- The city government is set to distribute more than 100,000 sets of school gears and supplies to all students from 55 public schools here.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., said all kindergarten to grade 12 students, including those under the 72 day care centers in the city, will receive a backpack with a complete set of school supplies including notebooks, pens, and school shirts paired with a set of shoes and socks.

Lazatin also accounted for some 2,500 day care students, who will receive textbooks, crayons, and coloring pads aside from the mentioned set of school items.

The mayor said he will personally distribute the school supply sets.

As of August 17, 2023, the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Angeles City reported a total of 66,842 enrollees from grades 1 to 12.

This figure is expected to rise before the school year opens.

DepEd Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Ronaldo Pozon thanked Lazatin for providing free school supplies to the students.

Lazatin distributed full sets of school supplies and gear to Angeleño students in 2022.
