IN ORDER to help them transition efficiently to the "new normal" way of schooling, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will provide 2,997 tablets to public school teachers in Angeles City.

The City Government initially planned on distributing 55,000 tablets to Grades 4 to 12 students in 53 public schools only.

Recognizing the crucial role educators play to make virtual learning a success, Lazatin decided to donate tablets to 2,997 public school teachers.

The tablets for teachers will be distributed after giving the 55,000 tablets to grades 4 to 12 students in public schools.

In total, the City Government is procuring 58,000 tablets.

On October 3, the City Government began its distribution of the initial 2,017 tablets to five public schools in the city, including Cutud Elementary School (359 tablets), Epza Resettlement Elementary School (859 tablets), Marisol Bliss Elementary School (493 tablets), Pulung Cacutud Elementary School (259 tablets) and Leoncia Elementary School (91 tablets).

Lazatin asked other students and parents to be patient in waiting for the delivery of their tablets.

“Huwag po kayong mag-alala, basta po naka-enroll yung mga anak ninyo sa mga public schools ng siyudad at kasalukuyang nasa Grades 4 to 12, makakatanggap po sila ng kanya-kanya nilang tablet,” he assured.

The City Government is also in the process of finalizing the agreement with local internet providers to meet their objective of providing free and fast internet access for students and teachers.

Lazatin has allocated P20 million for the installation of 772 satellite units in the city to meet the demands of the free internet.
