Angeles civil registry office named among best in the country

ANGELES CITY -- The Angeles City Civil Registry Office (ACCRO) made waves in the national scene as it earned a place among the Top 10 Outstanding Local Civil Registry Office (Super Extra Large Category) in the Philippines.

This is the second time that the said office was cited by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for its exemplary service to the public. The ACCRO placed seventh in 2016, and ninth for 2017 among more than 2,000 civil registrar offices throughout the country.

The award was given during the 9th National Workshop on Civil Registration held recently at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City with the theme “Napapanahong CRVS.”

Held every two years, the 9NWCR is an avenue for a healthy exchange of ideas, best practices and other related experiences among civil registrars, government officials, members of judiciary and other participants.

City Civil Registry Officer Nenita Garcia said that the award was based on performance evaluation and the success of registration works and other activities like submission of documents ahead of time, extra activities such as mobile registration, mass wedding and information dissemination campaigns.

“Receiving the award for two consecutive years now is truly a grateful feeling and we did not expect it at all. I am grateful to our city mayor for being supportive in all of our activities, most especially the mass wedding,” said Garcia.

“Also, I am grateful to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) for assisting us on legal documents,” the civil registry officer added.

Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan lauded the ACCRO for its competence and commendable performance as a frontline government service office.

“Unity is very important in a team. Without unity, we are all nothing. The ACCRO proved that their unity and efforts have paid off with the award received. This recognition is a testament to the fast and quality service that the local government provides,” Pamintuan said.

Other awardees include the Civil Registry Offices of Marinduque, Lubao, City of San Fernando, General Santos City, Pasay City and Davao City.

ACCRO processes more than 200 civil registration documents daily which include birth, marriage and death certificates. (PR)
