THE logal government unit (LGU of) Angeles City under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. will administer Covid-19 vaccine jabs to 25 children with special needs aged five to 11 at the Angeles Elementary School (AES) on February 23, 2022.
The children belong to the Special Education Classes at AES.
The City Government has opted to conduct the vaccination within the school campus since it is a location the children are already familiar with.
“Getting vaccinated can be a scary experience for children so we wanted to lessen their fear by bringing the vaccination to a place where they are comfortable,” said Mina Cabiles, officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Gender and Development (GAD) Office.
Cabiles coordinated the vaccination schedule with Edith Peña of AES.
The vaccination of the children at AES will be attended to by a pool of volunteer pediatricians led by Dr. Lea Angeles.
According to Dr. Verona Guevarra, OIC-city health officer, the City Government is also set to bring the vaccination to all orphanages in the city following the vaccination drive at AES.
On February 14, the City Government announced all children that will be vaccinated will receive loot bags containing vitamins, paracetamols, candies, coloring pens and coloring pads. (PR)
