ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said that self-discipline is a must for the city to win the battle against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

"Pairalin ang disiplina sa mga sarili at maging responsable," Lazatin said when he delivered his Covid-19 update Tuesday night, September 1.

The mayor issued the statement as the number of coronavirus cases in the city has soared to 334 as of September 1, 2020.

Lazatin also called on City Hall employees and barangay leaders tasked to enforce quarantine protocols to serve as role models to other people.

More than 1,000 individuals were apprehended for violating quarantine guidelines, including the wearing of face mask and shields and prohibition of gatherings, among others, said Lazatin.

The City Government has recorded 16 deaths, 126 recovered patients and 192 active cases of Covid-19.
