The prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene are expected to go up again this week after a hike last Tuesday.

This was announced by the Department of Energy (DOE) over the weekend.

The agency said the adjustments may be implemented on April 29, based on trading in the international oil market the past four days.

The DOE Oil Industry Management Bureau said the price of gasoline may increase by P0.80 to P1.40; diesel by P0.40 to 1.00; and kerosene by P0.50 to P0.70 per liter.

DOE Oil Industry Management Bureau Assistant Director Rodela Romero said the price hike is due to US sanctions against Iran’s oil shipping network, coupled with a decline in US crude inventories.

On April 22, 2025, oil firms increased the prices of gasoline by P1.35, diesel by P1.30, and kerosene by P1.10 per liter.

Last Holy Week, the prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene were slashed by as much as P3 per liter.

The latest price movements brought the year-to-date total adjustment to stand at a net increase of P2.30 per liter for gasoline and P2.85 per liter for diesel.

Kerosene has a year-to-date net decrease of P1.80 per liter.

The official price adjustments will be announced by oil firms on Monday, April 28, and will be implemented the following day.
