BOC-Clark seizes P858-K ecstasy

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO More than 500 pieces of suspected ecstasy were seized by the Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Tuesday.

The suspected illegal drugs were discovered in shipment that arrived at Port of Clark from Hoofddorp, Netherlands on September 30.

The said shipment was declared to contain “beads in a bottle” by the sender.

The package was subjected to physical examination as it showed a suspicious image.

This resulted in the discovery of three plastic jars containing 505 pieces of pink and gray tablets suspected to be ecstasy valued at P858,500.

A warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued by District Collector Alexandra Lumontad for violation of various sections of R.A. No. 10863 in relation to Section 4 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities launched a controlled delivery operation in Paranaque City on Wednesday.

The operation led to the arrest of the package’s claimant identified as Jan Vino Siwa, 39.

Siwa will be facing charges for violation of Section 4 (Importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165.
