The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Fernando has issued a formal Decree of Canonical Penalty of Reprimand against Constancia Areco "Apong Conching" Sanchez for actions deemed inconsistent with the teachings and sacraments of the Catholic Church.
In Circular Letter No. 18, Series 2025, Archbishop Florentino G. Lavarias cited violations involving self-interpretation of divine revelation and illicit conduct in the celebration of sacraments.
The decree emphasized that these actions caused "confusion and scandal among the faithful and undermined the moral authority of the clergy."
Sanchez, a resident of Bahay Pare, Candaba under the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Merced, was found to have engaged in religious activities without proper ecclesiastical authorization, prompting Church authorities to take action.
The Archdiocese ordered Apong Conching to publicly acknowledge her errors, refrain from repeating the same behaviors, and align her practices with Church doctrine.
The reprimand is "intended to correct the deviation and restore order within the Church community."
The decree was signed by Archbishop Lavarias and Chancellor Rev. Fr. Danny Q. Nacpil on March 28, 2025, underscoring the Church’s commitment to uphold its canonical laws and safeguard the integrity of its sacraments.
