CLARK FREEPORT -- Capas town Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan said the municipality, home of the New Clark City which is now being used as a Covid-19 quarantine site for 445 repatriates, is rising from the challenges it is facing.

"Capas town is rising to the big challenge to the extent of going out of its way in displaying support to the nationally-led action against Covid-19," the mayor said.

Catacutan joined the meeting of the Covid-19 inter-agency task force on Tuesday, March 3.

"The inter-agency collaboration is the right approach in combating and mitigating the effects of Covid-19 in our country. It is the right step towards containing the health menace combining with inclusive strategy where local government units like Capas are tapped," he said.

Catacutan commended the Capas Municipal Health Office for assisting in the quarantine efforts of the National Government.

The town's health office staff are also monitoring the health of residents around the New Clark City and explaining to the people the ongoing quarantine of repatriates and the corona virus disease.

"I know your sacrifices and care for our people and the repatriates undergoing quarantine at the New Clark City," Catacutan told local government workers.

The mayor also thanked the people for "opening their hearts and sharing their love" to the overseas Filipino workers who are now isolated at the New Clark City.

"Arriba Capasenos. Take the higher ground and be part of the solution," Catacutan told his constituents.

The repatriates have completed more than one week of quarantine and are expected to be sent home early next week.
