HUNDREDS of barangay officials from the City of San Fernando in Pampanga received on Monday, December 21, gift bags from Representative Alan Peter Cayetano and wife Representativee Lani Cayetano.

The Cayetano couple personally turned over the Christmas bags to a total of 600 chairmen and health workers from the 35 barangays in the city.

Alan Peter said his family is giving away gift bags containing various grocery items as a way of giving thanks to the sacrifices and efforts of barangay officials and workers in the fight against Covid-19.

"Our barangay officials are among our frontliners who braved the threat of Covid-19 to continue serving their constituents and as to show our appreciation, we brought in some gifts for them," he said.

Aside from the gift-giving, the Cayetano couple also did a quick consultation with the officials for the possible projects and programs that they can bring in the future for Fernandinos.

"Hopefully by mid-next year, we can restart our livelihood programs to help those that are badly-affected by Covid-19 recover again. When everything is fine and the vaccine is here, we hope to help our friends here get back on their feet again," Alan Peter said.

Mayor Edwin Santiago, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Cayetano family for their generosity and thoughtfulness to Fernandinos.

"From the father, former senator Rene Cayetano, to the children, Cong Alan and Senator Pia, and now with their own families, they have never forgotten San Fernando and we are very lucky to have them as friends and adopted family, too," Santiago said.
