CDRRMC approves guidelines for ‘new normal’ under GCQ

CITY Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC) convened on Thursday, May 7, to discuss the guidelines on the implementation of general community quarantine (GCQ) and the “new normal” in workplaces and public places in the City of San Fernando.

Under GCQ, industries which will be allowed to operate include agriculture, food retails, and telecommunications; public transportation will be partially opened; but, religious ceremonies, public gatherings and gyms will still be prohibited.

This, in pursuant to Republic Act No. 11469 which mandates local government units to act within the letter and spirit of all rules, regulations and directives issued by the National Government, and for them to fully cooperate in implementing policies to address coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The council has approved the guidelines and this will be transmitted to the Local Chief Executive (LCE) for his approval and signature.

It will be adopted and implemented upon the lifting of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

CDRRMC also plans to pass an ordinance to strengthen the implementation of the “new normal” and penalize violators of the said guidelines. (PR)
