Cenro employee nabbed for illegal drugs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- An employee of the City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) here on Friday evening was nabbed for illegal drugs in a checkpoint conducted along Dolores intersection this city, a police report said Saturday.

The suspect identified as Jhay John Bondoc Roque, 33, while onboard his Honda motorcycle was flagged down by police authorities led by Senior Inspector Wimerra Jean D. Saldia for violation of the LTO Rules and Regulations.

But police said, after a body search, five plastic sachets of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, and drug paraphernalia were recovered from Roque’s possession.

According to police, Roque was allegedly involved in the illegal drugs trade after a series of text conversations and transactions were found in his mobile phone by arresting officers.

Under the Philippine Drug enforcement Agency (PDEA) policy, a government employee or official who is involved in illegal drug activities is classified as a high-value target.

Roque is now detained at the Dolores Community Police Assistance Center as charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied to file against him in court.
