Chiz wants to share Sorsogon experience to all Pinoys

COMEBACKING senator Governor Chiz Escudero said Monday, February 21, 2022, that he wants to share to all Filipinos across the country his experience in Sorsogon province as its top chief executive.

Escudero was in Pampanga on Monday, and in an interview with veteran broadcasters Perry Pangan, Boy Santiago and Albert Lacanlale over DwRW 95.1 FM's "Talakayan," he said one of main reasons he is eyeing a comeback in the Senate is to help resolve issues concerning the country, particularly economic recovery.

"I would like to share that experience we had in Sorsogon to the rest of the country. In particular, economic recovery and development," he said.

Escudero suggested that with the country's huge debt, the government should allow and give incentives to the private sector in terms of infrastructure and economic development.

"It's like letting the private sector go on with investing like what San Miguel Corporation did with the Skyway and TPLEx (Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway). This way, we could allocate other resources for other economic undertakings," he said.

Escudero said he is not agreeable to increasing taxes as a way of pooling resources to pay debts.

"I certainly would not want to conform to that. We rather would work hard to rid the government of corruption than to burden the people all the more," he said. (JTD)
