CL crime rate drops

Published on

Crime incidents in Central Luzon decreased by nearly 16 percent in less than two months, data from the Police Regional Office III (PRO-3) showed.

Brigadier General Rogelio Peñones, PRO-3 director, said that Central Luzon recorded 495 focus crimes from June 20 to August 15, 2025.

The figure dropped from 588 in the same period last year, the police official added.

The cases that declined were in physical injuries (46.3%), murder (31.91 %), and rape (26.04%).

Aurora province posted the highest crime rate drop at 64.29%, followed by Zambales with 44.44% and Tarlac with 35.56%.

Police arrested 1,326 wanted persons, including 319 most wanted individuals, and recovered 260 loose firearms.

Peñones attributed the decline in crime volume to the combined efforts of PRO-3 personnel and the cooperation of the community.

“These numbers reflect the hard work, discipline, and dedication of our men and women on the ground. Guided by the leadership of PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III, we will continue to work closely with the community and all stakeholders to sustain this downtrend and address emerging crime concerns,” he said.
