Political leaders from different parts of Central Luzon have endorsed the senatorial bid of former Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos.
In an event held at Royce Hotel in Clark Freeport recently, governors, vice governors, congressmen, board members, and mayors expressed their support to Abalos ahead of the 2025 national elections.
Among the officials present in the gathering were Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, Tarlac Governor Susan Yap, Zambales Governor Hermogenes Ebdane, Nueva Ecija Vice Governor Emmanuel Umali, and Bulacan 5th District Representative Ambrosio “Boy” Cruz.
The officials cited Abalos’ performance as DILG Secretary helping their respective provinces.
They vowed to mobilize support in their areas to help secure Abalos' victory in the Senate race.
Abalos thanked the CL officials for their support and trust in his advocacies.
He vowed to initiate legislations and support programs to boost the development in Central Luzon.
“Grabe ang development sa Central Luzon, bawat probinsya may kanya-kanyang pagsulong. What more kung pag-iisahin pa natin ‘yan sa iisang direksyon. Tutulong tayo para i-address ang kanilang problema para diretso ang development,” Abalos said.
He also presented to the officials some legislative priorities if he will be elected Senator.
These include the removal of VAT on electricity and taxes on petroleum products used for power generation; and support for programs aimed at improving the welfare of farmers and their families.
Abalos also underscored the need to amend the Rice Tariffication Law to strengthen the National Food Authority, promote fair rice pricing, and support local farmers.
“Ako po ang magiging boses ninyo. Tandaan ninyo yan. Ngayon eleksyon po, magkaisa tayo. I will take care of you,” Abalos said.
