
All units of the Police Regional Office III (PRO-3) are now on full alert status ahead of the May 12 polls.
The Central Luzon police was placed on full alert status starting 12:01 AM of May 3 to 11:59 PM of May 15, 2025, in accordance with the order of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Headquarters, nine days ahead of the national and local elections.
Brigadier General Jean S. Fajardo, PRO-3 director, said the full alert status is part of the preparations to ensure a peaceful, orderly, and clean elections in Central Luzon.
She said that additional personnel will be deployed to areas of concern and voting centers in the provinces of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga.
Elements of the Quick Reaction Forces (QRF) and Reactionary Standby Support Forces (RSSF) are also ready to respond to any incident of violence or disturbance, Fajardo added.
She said that monitoring operations will be 24/7, to quickly identify and detect any security threats.
“We are working with Comelec [Commission on Elections], AFP [Armed Forces of the Philippines], and other government agencies to ensure the safety of our countrymen on election day. The peace of the election is the peace of the people," Fajardo said.
The PNP earlier said that some 120,000 personnel will be deployed to secure more than 37,000 voting centers across the country during the elections.
In Pampanga, the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO) said that 1,786 police officers will be deployed, with 1,022 to be assigned in polling centers.
Other personnel will support logistics, secure Comelec and Treasurer’s offices, handle election complaints, and guard checkpoints and borders.
Some 331 officers will stay on standby for emergency response.
Out of the PPO’s 1,712 personnel, 1,670 are available for deployment.
They will be augmented with teams from the Regional Headquarters, Angeles City Police, personnel in training, and 477 officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Fire Protection.
A total of 552 candidates are running for 222 positions, including congressional, provincial, city, and municipal posts.
An estimated 1,463,013 registered voters in Pampanga are expected to cast their votes in 8,856 precincts, grouped into 1,817 clusters across 511 voting centers.
Colonel Jay Dimaandal, PPO director, said that 19 areas in Pampanga are classified as “Green” (peaceful), while only two areas are under the “Yellow” category (areas of concern).
He added that no areas in the province were placed under the more serious “Orange” or “Red” categories showing that the province is generally safe as of May 4.
