Clark Marriott hosts charity run

CLARK FREEPORT -- A five-star hotel here hosted a run for a cause on Saturday.

In celebration of its first anniversary, Clark Marriott Hotel hosted its first charity run called, "Run to Give" on September 14.

"Run to Give" is an annual charity fundraising running event organised by Marriott International involving participating Marriott hotels across Asia Pacific.

"Instead of holding festivities for our anniversary celebration, we thought it would be better to give back especially to the children who are in need," Clark Marriott Hotel general manager Goeren Soelter said.

All proceeds from the run will go to the Save the Children Philippines, a 100-year old organization that helps children gain access to quality education and health services, support them in times of great need, and protect them from risks and harm.

More than 1,200 runners participated in the charity run. Fastest runners for the 3 kilometer, 5K, and 10K categories were awarded with trophies and cash prizes.

Also present during the event were Marriott International cluster general manager Bruce Winton, Clark Marriot Hotel director of sales and marketing Charley Magabo, and Save the Children Philippines director for fundraising Celine Santillan.

Clark Marriott Hotel opened its doors to the public on September 14, 2018. It is the first and only five-star hotel in Clark.

The hotel stands on a 6,000 square meter land beside Widus International Hotel. It has 260 well-appointed rooms in a 16-story tower, sophisticatedly designed to serve the millennial and high-end market.

The multi-million dollar property features the usual Marriott facilities such as Goji kitchen and bar, great room, pool bar, executive lounge, and ballroom and meeting places.
