ANGELES CITY -- The city’s new police director said that all enforcers should be God-centered.

Police Colonel Joyce Patrick Sangalang, who assumed as city police director last month, said God-centered cops will help the entire organization in gaining back the trust and confidence of the people.

“We should have God-centered police personnel of Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) God-driven operations para po yung sinsabi na hindi maganda sa mga kapulisan nabaon na po baol ng usapin na hindi naman totoo lahat. I am not justifying, pero marami pa rin ang mga pulis na nagtatrabaho,” Sangalang said.

The new police director last Tuesday, October 15, met with officers and members of the Pampanga Press Club (PPC) for the newsmen’s monthly forum at the Park Inn by Radisson Clark dubbed “News at Hues”.

He told media personnel that he directed his men to shift from a reactive stance to a proactive stance.

“Ang difference po ng reactive stance napakalayo po sa proactive stance. Ang reactive stance ay nasa loob ng mga stations ang mga pulis,” the police director said.

During inspections, Sangalang said he keeps on telling his policemen that there are no criminals inside the police stations.

“Wala pong kriminal sa loob ng police station, nasa labas po. So kailangan po nakalabas ang ating mga pulis,” he added.

Sangalang also bared the marching orders of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on peace and order and good governance.

“Pogi, which stand for Peace and Order and Good Governance with Integrity, yun po ang acronym na ginawa ko para marching orders ni mayor para ma comply ko. Sinum up ko yung mga instructions niya at yun yung naisip kong acronym,” Sangalang said.
