Cops distribute e-learning devices to indigent students

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Indigent students from different towns of Pampanga over the weekend received devices that can help in their online classes.

Major Louie Gonzaga, Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO) Community Relations Chief, said a total of 23 indigent students received the assistance from the PPPO.

"Our goal is to help students who belong to poorest of poor families get by in this school year by providing the gadgets they need for online learning," he said.

He added that each student received tablets, pocket Wi-Fis, earphones and powerbanks which has become essential for virtual classes.

Gonzaga disclosed that all police stations in Pampanga were instructed to provide assistance to indigent learners in their area.

"We are hopeful that we can expand this program in the grassroot level through the help of our city and municipal police stations," he said.

The program was among the last activities of outgoing PPPO Director Colonel Andres Simbajon prior to his transfer to PNP national headquarters.
