Cops seize expired food products in Bulacan

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Police recently seized P5 million worth of expired food products at a warehouse in Bulacan.

Operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG), 301st Regional Mobile Force Company and Sta. Maria police conducted the operation.

The operating team, together with Rex M. Anonas, Division Security and Safety Manager of San Miguel Foods, Inc (SMFI), implemented Search Warrant Number 2023-026-PSG for violation of Section 169 in relation to Section 170 of RA 8293 (Intellectual Property of the Philippines) in Barangay Parada, Santa Maria town.

Seized during the operation were several boxes of 3-in-1 coffee and canned goods amounting to P5-million, pedal sealing machine, assorted labelling paraphernalia, a box of specimen samples; and two trucks.

The expired food items are allegedly being repacked and sold at stores in Santa Maria, Bulacan.

Three individuals, identified as Gloria Cacanindin, Rachel Constantino, and Rica Rodriguez, were arrested during the operation.

A certain Noel Cacanindin managed to elude during the police raid.
