CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on December 21 started the Palayan City Township of Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program in Nueva Ecija where 44 towers with about 11,000 units are expected to rise.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., who led the groundbreaking rites of the 11-hectare township located in Barangay Atate, disclosed the plan to establish millions of housing units in the coming years, particularly in and around Metro Manila, to address the housing problem by providing shelter for Filipino families and reach the one million housing units per year target of his administration.

“I’m glad that we are continuing [housing program] and I know that it will not be the last. We will continue to break ground in different parts of the country so that our dream of one million homes a year, when achieved, will provide a solution to the housing problem of our fellow Filipinos. Let us continue and I am sure that we will be able to do what we need to do in the service of the Filipinos," he said.

"This just proves our continuous effort to provide housing units for millions of Filipinos who have no house of their own. This is a testament to the government’s commitment to build houses for its target beneficiaries," added the President.

Marcos thanked DHSUD and the city government of Palayan for supporting the new development and encouraged the public to support the campaign of the government which seeks to build safe and convenient houses for Filipino families.
