Dialysis patients get financial assistance

MAYOR Cris Garbo said the Mabalacat City Government provides financial assistance to hemodialysis patients in the city.

Garbo said aside from the 51 patients being treated in the city's dialysis center, residents suffering from kidney failure undergoing dialysis treatment gets medical subsidy from the local government.

"Dialysis patients with PhilHealth coverage get free 90 treatment sessions. But by November and December, their free session are depleted. So we expect that many patients will come to the city hall and seek assistance," the mayor said.

In line with the health programs of the City Government, Garbo said the city birthing station will be improved to help the people, especially the indigent ones.

"When recently visited our birthing station and we found out that it need to be upgraded in order to provide better services to our Kabalen," the local chief executive added.

"By next year, I want it to be developed with marmol flooring. Wow. I want it to be clean and fragrant," Garbo said.

He also bared the plan to extend the existing dialysis center to increase the number of patients being treated.

"We will add at least 15 dialysis machines so that we can accommodate more patients," Garbo said.
