DILG: Angeles City POC 10O percent functional

ANGELES CITY--The Department of the Interior and Local Government said the peace and order council (POC) of the city government here is 100 percent functional.

The DILG released the list of local government units in Central Luzon with functional POCs for 2022.

Lazatin said the city government will continuously deliver programs to ensure the protection, safety, and welfare of his constituents.

In the DILG’s 2022 POC performance audit, Angeles City garnered the following percentage points per pillar — Organization (10 percent); Meetings (20 percent); Policies, Plan, and Budget (25 percent); Reports (24.37 percent); General Supervision (20 percent); and two bonus points for Innovation.

Lazatin said he had ordered the Angeles City Police Office for 24/7 police visibility.

The mayor added that he has allotted a budget for the weekly gas allowance intended for the 24/7 police presence.

During his inaugural speech, Lazatin vowed to maintain peace and order in the city by implementing the 911 hotline linked to the Angeles City Emergency Disaster Command Center.

Angeles City has maintained a low crime rate for the past four years of Lazatin’s first term.

The mayor said he wants to keep it that way.

DILG’s assessment of the ratings is annually conducted to evaluate the functionality of regional, provincial, city, and municipal peace and order councils.

The POC performance audit is aimed “to acknowledge the innovations done by the councils and their secretariats, enhance their strategies and interventions, and build an avenue to showcase their best practices.”
