CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Pampanga has recognized the performance of barangays in settling disputes under the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA).

The villages received recognition during a ceremony at the Pampanga Provincial Capitol on Monday.

The LTIA is held annually and aims to strengthen the Katarungang Pambaranga and institutionalize a system of granting economic benefits and other incentives to Lupons that demonstrate exemplary performance.

Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and DILG officials presented a certificate of recognition to Barangay Malpitic of the City of San Fernando after being hailed as the Regional Winner in the Independent Cities and Component Cities Category.

Barangay Balucuc of Apalit was hailed as 1st Runner Up in the 1st to 3rd Class Municipalities Category.

Barangay San Vicente of Sto. Tomas town is the 2nd Runner Up in the 4th to 6th Class Municipalities Category.

DILG said only Pampanga in the entire Central Luzon was able to produce regional winners under the three said categories.

This is also the first time since 2019 that Pampanga had a provincial winner under the 4th to 6th Class Municipalities Category.
