The Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital (DPMMH) opened over the weekend a newly-renovated two-storey building designed for the pedia and adult health care.
The opening of the facility was attended by Board Members Cherry Manalo and Claire Lim.
A report from the Pampanga Information Office said that the facility was once used as a dedicated facility for COVID-19 patients at the height of the pandemic.
The center was transformed "into a fully air-conditioned, multi-functional health facility designed to cater to both pediatric and adult patients."
The first floor features a nurse station, Room 1, and specialized wards for pediatric infectious, respiratory, and gastro cases, as well as a combined Dengue/Gastro ward.
The second floor of the building houses additional nurse stations and wards for female general patients, female and male respiratory cases, and a Dengue Ward.
An Isolation Room, essential for handling contagious diseases, is also situated on this level, along with Rooms 2 to 8 that expand the hospital's capacity to accommodate more patients.
The newly upgraded facility now boasts of a 102-bed capacity.
Dr. Fleur Zapanta, chief of the hospital, said the building was built during the term of Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, and the renovation was completed under the leadership of Governor Dennis Pineda.
“On top of the upgraded infrastructure, dapat maganda rin ang serbisyo,” she said.
