CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Workers severely affected by the ongoing enhanced community quarantine received Labor Day food assistance from the Central Luzon Police.

Under its “Rektang Bayanihan” initiative, Police Regional Director Police Brigadier General Rhodel Sermonia led the distribution of food packs, sacks of rice, dairy products and dressed chicken to the different members of the labor sector including market vendors, drivers, factory workers and farmers.

“The two-day relief operations, held April 30 and May 1, have been made possible thru donations in the Police Regional Office Central Luzon Food Bank and in partnership with the Joint Industrial Peace Concerns Office (JIPCO),” Sermonia said.

“We want our laborers to feel that the government and the police recognize their vital role in the society and this is one of our ways to return the great contributions they are doing for the country. The police also have many programs for our laborers such as the JIPCO to guarantee their protection,” Sermonia added. (PIA-Central Luzon)
