DOH, RITM inspect Tarlac testing facility

THE Department of Health (DOH) and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) inspected the Molecular Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) Laboratory located at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital complex.

The facility has the capability to confirm coronavirus disease results through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.

"The Provincial Government's medical technologists have been undergoing training for the last few weeks. Technical assistance, equipment and facilities set-up was met with high regard by the group," Governor Susan Yap said.

She added that the facility is on track to meet its target to be operational by mid-May.

In the meantime, the Provincial Government has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine Red Cross to jumpstart PCR mass testing, starting Monday, April 27. (PIA-Central Luzon)
