CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Businesses, as well as other institutions handling food preparation, may want to tune into the webinar series sponsored by 3M Philippines, in cooperation with Department of Science and Technology- Regional Office 3 (DOST R3), on "Personnel and Food Safety in the Time of Covid-19."
With the spread of the coronavirus, DOST said that one of the industries greatly affected is the food industry.
“Food manufacturers are faced with the challenge of not only ensuring the quality and safety of their food products but also the task of maintaining a safe workforce amidst the pandemic,” DOST said in a Facebook post.
The two- day webinar will highlight the proper selection of personnel protective equipment (PPE), particularly on respiratory and eye protection, not only for the protection of employees from the novel coronavirus but also from other hazards in the plant. Furthermore, the impact of Covid-19 on the food industry, as well as Covid-19 control strategies will be discussed.
