DTI launches Negosyo sa Barangay in Aurora

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently launched its third Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) in Aurora.

The project aims to create new and expand more livelihood opportunities, especially for those wanting to restart businesses after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is despite Aurora being the lone Covid-19-free province in the whole of Central Luzon.

With its initial five beneficiaries, DTI hopes that more economic activities within the locality will be explored to help households in the area become productive and self-sustaining, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic where businesses suffered due to the lockdowns.

During the program, Barangay Nipoo Chairman Arnel Borce cited the effect of the program to the Barangay Development Council.

"The presence of the NSB center is a vital link to help build the lives of the community in the area, particularly those wanting to engage in livelihood activities," he said.

DTI said it targets two more NSBs to be launched in Dinalungan before the end of June 30, with ten additional potential micro-entrepreneurs that will be included in the list and roll of entrepreneurs to be assisted in the barangays.
