Ex-AC councilor eyes Balibago chairmanship

ANGELES CITY - Former Angeles City Councilor Joseph “PG” Ponce has declared his bid for the chairmanship of Barangay Balibago here in the coming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in October this year.

Ponce made the announcement during a meeting with members of Central Luzon Media Association - Pampanga Chapter on Wednesday.

The village chairman aspirant said he wants to bring "further progress by sharing his political experience with his home barangay."

Ponce was a two-term councilor of this city in 2016 and 2019.

Ponce said he will ensure that Barangay Balibago will not be left behind from the progress happening in its surrounding villages and the whole of Angeles City.

“Sana po hindi maiwan ang Balibago sa mga kapit-barangay namin katulad ng Korean town and even Cutcut and Malabanias na napakasigla po talaga ngayon,” he said.

While he pushes for development of Barangay Balibago, Ponce assured that he will retain the iconic ‘Red Light District’ in the area.

He, however, vowed to regulate the businesses in the area to ensure that only those compliant to rules and laws can operate.
