

Some officials in Mabalacat City are pushing for the termination of a joint venture agreement between the Mabalacat City Water District and PrimeWater for alleged poor services and other converns.
This was learned from City Councilors Benny Jocson and Noel Castro on Thursday.
Both Jocson and Castro said the city council is contemplating to pass a resolution urging the MCWD board to terminate its JVA with PrimeWater it the latter fails to address numerous issues raised by its consumer.
The complaints include dirty and low pressure water supply, delayed actions on consumers' concerns, poor services and others.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod conducted a public hearing on said date in connection with the complaint filed by Poy Waje and other residents against PrimeWater MCWD.
Officials of Primewater Mabalacat Office, led by Branch Manager Maria Lourdes Galvez and MCWD, headed by General Manager Hector Aguilar attend the hearing presided by Councilor Noel Castro.
Councilor Stephen Aurelio raised concerns about the potability of water the PrimeWater and MCWD
povide to their consumers.
He also mentioned the delayed actions of the two firms on service connections and repair of lines.
Aurelio said the city government officials need to be furnished the copy of the joint venture agreement between MCWD and PrimeWater.
"We want to know if their services and development projects are at par with the JVA," the councilor added.
The local government, under the directive of Mayor Geld Aquino, asked the PrimeWater to furnish the local leaders a copy of the JVA but to no avail.
Aguilar, for his part, said the MCWD board has given the PrimeWater to make up for their backlog on new service connections and repair works.
The PrimeWater officials, in response, vowed to cope up with the issues.
In response, Galvez said PrimeWater Mabalacat Branch is working hard to address the issues.
She also enumerated the firm's development projects like the commissioning of pumping Stations and rehabilitation of water lines.RGN
